How to Choose the Right Cake Size

Start with servings, then consider the table

Serving count is the practical starting point, but cake size also affects how the design looks in photos. A cake for 20 people can still feel small on a large dessert table if the event styling is grand.

If your cake is the centrepiece, mention that in your enquiry. The studio can suggest a size or tier structure that balances servings with visual impact.

Tall cakes feel more premium

A taller single-tier cake can create a polished, modern look without moving into a full multi-tier build. It works especially well for birthdays, baby showers, and smaller milestone events.

Two or three tiers make sense when you need more servings, more height, or a wedding-style focal point.

Design complexity can affect size

Some decorations need enough surface area to look balanced. Cascading florals, character scenes, edible prints, and detailed textures may need a larger canvas than a minimal cake.

That is why quote-based ordering is useful: the final recommendation can match the design, not just the headcount.
